Speculation that she was injured at Castle Bromwich Aeroplane Factory Home Address - 14 Lennox Street, Aston General Hospital West Midlands Police Records Raid 2 -13th/14th August 1940 The red alert for the raid was given at 11.17 p.m. on the Tuesday night. It was given white at 12.09 a.m. and then red again at 12.12.a.m. and then white at 3.6 a.m. 94 High Explosive bombs were dropped in the Erdington and Bromford districts (D Division). There were 30 unexploded bombs. 61 incendiary bombs were also dropped. 5 persons were killed and 45 injured (29 detained) as a result of the bombs falling, and 5(7) people killed and 41 injured at the Castle Bromwich Aeroplane Factory. 28 houses were damaged and fires caused in 8 houses (Nuffields and houses damaged) and a field of corn. Also damage to gas and water mains. In addition to casualties caused by the dropping of bombs, 3 people died and 8 were injured as a result of the air raid alarm.
