Frank Smith
Frank Smith was interviewed by Alice Murphy. Frank has a fascinating story. He was born in a workhouse in Kent and this is where he spent a large part of his childhood. He describes life in the workhouse and his evacuation to Birmingham at the start of the Second World War. He was then evacuated to Tanworth in Arden where he was well-looked after in a lovely rural setting. Frank tells of his life in the village during the war and concludes with his return to Birmingham.
