July 3rd Swanshurst held its second Veterans’ Day following on from the popularity of the event last year where we had approximately 60 veterans attending. Veterans from across Birmingham ranging from Dunkirk, D-Day and Burma to the Korean War and the Suez Canal Zoners. The veterans marched between the Sixth Form centre and Lower School at 12.15 pm.
The afternoon was attended by Steve McCabe MP who has helped to organise the event, they spoke to all pupils from Year 9. The veterans were presented with a commemorative booklet, sponsored by the Co-op.
