29 May 2012
I am writing to wish you a very enjoyable half-term. School will finish at the normal time of 3.30 pm on Friday 1st June. I would also like to take the opportunity to draw a few matters to your attention.
Another reminder that students should not have their phones out at all around school between 8.30am and 3.30pm. Any student found with their phones out during this time will have them confiscated, and in cases where this is repeatedly happening, will have their request to bring them to school withdrawn.
Year 7 Parents’ Evening - Wednesday 27th June 2012
This will start at 5.00 pm and end at 7.30 pm.
Professional Development Days
As you are aware we have one more staff professional development day coming up during the next half-term. This is on Friday 29th June 2012 and students are not expected in school on this day.
We are looking forward to this year’s activities days in July. Thank you to the vast majority of you who have made your financial contribution to your daughter’s involvement in these exciting and highly innovative days. If you have not managed to do this yet, please make every effort to do so. The days run on Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th July 2012. The last day of the summer term is Friday 20th July.
Examinations and Assessments
The season of external examinations is now upon us and I would like to remind you that Years 7, 8 and 9 will also be undertaking internal assessments after half-term. Timetables are on our website.
Please be aware that if we are lucky enough to see warm weather, students must still bring their school jumpers or cardigans to school, and must not replace these with other coloured cardigans or jackets.
Year 10 black jumpers - Year 10 will be allowed to wear black Swanshurst jumpers or cardigans after half term. These must have the school logo on them.
Please also be aware that from September, everyone now needs to wear a V neck jumper or cardigan. Sweatshirts will no longer be part of school uniform.
We look forward to seeing all students back in school at the normal time on Monday 11th June 2012.
