As the term and school year draw to an end, I would like to wish you and your families a thoroughly enjoyable and peaceful summer holiday. We have had a really successful year and are looking forward to the next one. Please note that students will be escorted off site from 12.05 pm on Friday 20th July and there will be no after school study support sessions on this day.



Reports

All students’ reports are being sent home by pupil post, except for Year 9. They are also available on your daughter’s secure area.



Swanshurst Herald

You will receive a copy of The Herald. Please do find the time to read the articles to get a true flavour of all the opportunities available to all our students.



Examination Results

A reminder that AS and A2 examination results will be available in school on Thursday 16th August at 9:00 am in Upper Hall and Year 11 GCSE results and Level 2 Sixth Form results on Thursday 23rd August at 9:30 am in Upper Hall. Year 10 GCSE results will be available at the beginning of term unless your daughter has already taken a large size 1st class stamp to the Examinations’ Office.



Start of September Term

We look forward to our new Year 7 students starting back for the new school year at 8.40 am on Tuesday 4th September. Year 11 also return on 4th September at 10.00am. Years 8, 9 and 10, as well as Years 7 and 11 will return at 8.40 am on Wednesday 5th September. Years 12 and 13 will receive separate notification.



Term Time Holidays from September 2012

This year whole school attendance was a fantastic 96%, and we will continue next year to sustain this. More students than ever have finished the year with 100% attendance and we extend our thanks to parents who have worked so hard to help us achieve this. Please note that, in line with Local Authority policy, there will be no authorisation at all of any term time holidays or extended visits abroad. However, please can you still request a term time absence form from pupil hatch to inform us if you intend to take your daughter out of school.



Professional Development Days Next Year

The school will be closed to students on the following dates: Thursday 11th and Friday 12th October 2012 and Friday 21st June 2013 [to be confirmed]. The summer term will end on Friday 19th July 2013.
