Space Walk

On the Swanshurst site we are very lucky to have large models of all the planets, set out to scale. Every year we run Space Walks for primary classes, at various points throughout the year. These are run by staff and year 11 science prefects.

The Swanshurst governors were interested in taking part in a Space Walk, so two of our students who had lead the Space Walk before guided the governors along the route.

Sidra Mehtab and Maliha Mir showed the governors the sun and the eight planets (Pluto no longer counts—it is a dwarf planet!), explaining the key features of each.

The governors were impressed with the girl’s knowledge and professionalism, and the girl’s really enjoying showing them the planets. They hope to do another one soon!
