Pre Teacher Training Observations

Swanshurst is committed to supporting new entrants to the teaching profession. As part of this process we offer the opportunity, for people considering teaching as a career, to gain experience of schools and observe teachers in the classroom prior to commencing an ITE programme.

Most opportunities to observe will be based around 2 days, subject to departmental commitments and volume of demand. These opportunities are available between the following dates throughout the school calendar:

First 2 weeks in September - for applicants already enrolled on an ITE course.
First 2 weeks in October
Third week in November
Last week in January
Third and Fourth weeks in June

Sometimes it is possible to spend longer in school but this only applies to those holding a current Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check (formally CRB) certificate. We are not able to apply for this on your behalf. Please note, also, that we are unable to provide opportunities for full placements with providers with whom we do not already work.
