• If I need help or advice with my homework, what do I do?
Your teachers will always find time to help you with your homework if you’re unsure about anything. Always talk to your teacher or your form tutor if you are finding something difficult, as they are always happy to help.
• What do I need to bring to my lessons?
You need to bring a pen, pencil, eraser, ruler and a planner to your lessons. A planner will be provided in your first week at school.
• Will I fit in?
All of the students were nervous on their first day, but the teachers and staff couldn't have made it a happier environment to be in. With students talking and chatting all around you, you may feel anxious, but there is always a member of staff around that you can talk to.
• Will I make friends?
Yes, all of the students in Swanshurst are friendly and kind. If you are lost in the school, you can always ask a pupil or a member of staff who will guide you to where you need to be. On your first day, your form tutor will help everyone get to know each other so that you can make friends.
• Can I get help if I need it?
Yes – ask your tutor, your teachers or your pastoral team. Any adult or pupil in the school will help you.
• How do we make new friends?
In your tutor group you will do “getting to know you” activities. Getting involved in clubs and activities is another great way to make new friends.
