We are proud to provide our Year 12 students with a multitude of opportunities to develop invaluable skills and experiences beyond the classroom.
Students are trained by an external body as reading support for specific students in the main school.
Students receive training to mentor students in the main school who would benefit from coaching and support from a designated ‘Big Sister’.
Workshops: an external organisation will come in to deliver workshops to the whole of Y12 over one day. These workshops are designed to improve students’ confidence and interview skills and prepare them in a practical and enjoyable way for applying to university, apprenticeships, or work. All Y12 students will be given the opportunity to visit universities throughout the year, culminating in the UCAS conference taking place in June 2026.
Students will be supported to secure a work experience placement at the end of Y12. All students are expected to participate and will be given plenty advice and guidance in the build up to the placement. This invaluable experience helps students build resilience, independence, and communication skills.
We have a variety of extra-curricular and wellbeing activities running through the academic year, from origami and mindfulness to rounders and yoga. Clubs can be run by students or teachers and new clubs are always being included- if you have an interest let us know!
