Does your child have a diagnosis of Developmental Language Disorder (DLD)?
This autumn, the Birmingham SEND Team will be running a free DLD Together course designed specifically for parents and carers of secondary school-aged children with a DLD diagnosis.
DLD Together was created by two UK charities that specialise in DLD — Afasic (for families) and NAPLIC (for professionals). The course was developed in response to families’ need for clear, accessible information about DLD and practical ways to support their children.
We believe that well-informed and well-supported families are essential in helping young people with DLD reach their full potential.
Parents and carers attending the course will:
Develop an understanding of DLD and how it affects their child.
Learn about their child’s individual language profile.
Explore strategies to support their child at home.
Discover ways to support their child’s learning at school.
Meet other families of children with DLD.
When:
Session 1 (in-person): Wednesday 26 November 2025, 9:15 am – 3:00 pm
