Dear Parents/Carers
Your daughter has been selected to take part in the ‘Up for Debate’ National Competition and Championships on Monday 26th March 2018 at Harrow School, London.
Your daughter has been chosen due to her attendance at Debate Club and excellent debating skills in front of her peers.
Students will travel by coach, leaving school at 6.30 am and will return between 7.30 pm – 8.00 pm, depending on traffic. Your daughter will be able to contact you to update you as to a more accurate time on the journey back. Your daughter will be under supervision throughout the journey and during the visit itself. School uniform must be worn. There is no cost for this visit.
Please note, it is your responsibility to ensure your daughter’s safety to and from school. Please indicate on the reply slip if you will collect her upon her return to school or whether your daughter should make her own way home, in which case, you will take responsibility for her safety.
Whilst there may be some refreshments available (please indicate any dietary requirements on the reply slip) please ensure you provide your daughter with a packed lunch and sufficient drinks and snacks for the duration of the day. If your daughter is entitled to Free School Meals and you have provided the necessary evidence to the main office, please indicate on the attached slip. She will then be entitled to a packed lunch from school.
Please note that we, and PIXL who are the organisers of this event, may use images, names and/or audio interview material for education and publicity purposes. By allowing your daughter to participate in this visit, you are agreeing to this.
Yours sincerely
Debbie James
Headteacher
